Emma Triggs, Founder and CEO of M Live said:
We’re excited to have NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH on sale Monday, Sydney’s Freedom Day, as Sydney residents are finally able to exit lockdown and explore the galaxy. So we’re incredibly proud to be one of Sydney’s first major events with our security experience designed for COVID after 108 days of lockdown. Exactly like we did last year.
With Sydney now reaching the 70% vaccination target and Freedom Day almost upon us, the launch of the event could not have been better timed and is a welcome addition to Sydney’s decimated calendar of events. . An explosive presale this week to M Live, Ticketek and ICC networks has eclipsed all expectations and more than proved that the Sydneysiders are ready and excited to resume live events after an incredibly difficult few months. As the people of Sydney celebrate their new freedoms and plan for even more freedoms to come, NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH offers a chance to escape the confines of Lockdown and explore the wonders of the galaxy, take it from the couch to the cosmos with this immersive , multi-sensory and a COVID-safe experience.
Head of M Live Vanessa Richards:
Space is an inspiring concept that allows you to dream. When you look at the stars and the galaxy at night, you feel that you are not just of a particular piece of earth, but of something bigger, bigger than what you know and what you are. . As we near the end of the lockdown in New South Wales after an incredibly difficult time, NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH is exactly the experience we all need. I am delighted to be able to bring the experience of NEC Partners to ICC, so that we can give everyone a chance to open their minds, their hearts, to dream big and to go way beyond their doors. Freedom awaits.
Combining cutting edge technology with the latest scientific advancements, NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH tells the story of space exploration like never before! Guests will travel through the solar system and come face to face with sunsets on Mars, thunderstorms on Venus and the surface of Jupiter. Museum-quality models, spaceships, tools and astronaut suits will present the facts, stories and accomplishments behind space exploration and its future. Customers can also get their hands on fun and engaging interactive learning activities, holographic, tactile projections, and building games.
Declan McMongle, Managing Director of NEC Partners, said:
After sold-out shows in the US and China, we knew NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH would be perfect for Sydney. We’re excited to bring the show home for its Australian premiere with M Live.
NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH is an exhibition that encourages you not only to leave home, but the planet, in an experience that can only be… lived. Taking advantage of the growing interest in space exploration, owing to both news regarding civilian space travel and exciting new NASA missions to the Moon and Mars, NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH is harnessing the public’s desire to travel in a whole new world.
The event was also praised by the entertainment, arts and tourism communities. Vanessa Richards, Director of M Live, said:
We are delighted to be able to create jobs for our industry and bring smiles back to our audiences. The arts, entertainment and tourism sectors have been among the hardest hit industries throughout the pandemic with thousands of events, tours, festivals, flights, accommodation and restaurant reservations canceled or postponed due to COVID. Neighborhood Earth will see more than 150 jobs created and the much needed increase in city tours and tourism dollars.
The health and safety of all staff and visitors remains the top priority. The NEIGHBORHOOD EARTH blockbuster experience is designed to be completely safe against Covid and to exceed government public health guidelines. Controlled visitor capacities through hourly sessions and 5,000 square meters of floor space allows for much more than the recommended square meters per person, and a managed visitor flow means visitors can easily comply with social distancing advice.
The exhibit also meets the highest hygienic standards with hand sanitizers and daily deep cleaning. Other security measures include contactless entry through advance ticket sales; One-way flow of people managed throughout the event and compliance with all government regulations.
QUARTIER TERRE will appeal to all ages, making it the perfect event to fill the void left by another year of canceled events.
