NASA and SpaceX plan Crew-2 return to Earth on Monday as Crew-3 prepares for next launch – WFTV

CAP CANACERAL, Florida – It’s going to be a busy week on the Florida Space Coast.

SpaceX Crew-2 astronauts are expected to return to Earth in their Crew Dragon spacecraft on Monday afternoon.

The four astronauts were originally scheduled to undock from the International Space Station on Sunday afternoon, but their return was delayed.

The crew has been aboard the low earth orbit space station since April.

If they undock on Monday, Crew-2 plans to land off the coast of Florida about eight hours later.

NASA and SpaceX also hope to launch Crew-3 on top of a Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday.

The launch of Crew-3 has already been postponed several times due to the weather and a medical issue with one of the astronauts.

SpaceX said the weather for a launch on Wednesday was about 80% favorable.
